Field Notes from the Artist

This body of work is born from my deep love and admiration of the natural history museums I’ve had the good fortune to visit around the world. Ultimately, it is the culmination of 30 years of traveling, collecting, hunting, and gathering both objects and ideas. On a personal note, when I look into these boxes, I see the rocks that I stuffed into my pockets as a little girl wandering the beaches of the Oregon Coast with my family, and I see pieces of wood that I picked up on hikes with my dog during the pandemic — the undeniable magic of escaping into the natural world.

Each Museum Box is a natural time capsule filled with life-like model insects, realistic plants, wood, and rocks, all meticulously crafted to bring the beauty of nature into your home.
